  • The Ecology Center 32701 Alipaz Street San Juan Capistrano, CA, 92675 United States (map)

The Ecology Center + Heavy Nettle Self-Care Sundays!

This series will be led by Kelsey Barrett of Heavy Nettle, master herbalist and Southern California native. Each hand-ons workshop will take you on a journey through the garden, exploring seasonal herbalism and new elements of plant medicine that amplify the vitality and wellness of you and your family. Integrate age-old wisdom into your everyday practices, products, and life!

Imagine there is an ancient tool that is not only used to ease stress and influence healing, it will literally cleanse the air of seen and unseen impurities, like bacteria and viruses. Bring the healing properties of outdoors inside this Winter by crafting incense with local garden patch and wild land plants.

In this afternoon workshop we will share in a silent plant meditation to bring our intentions to our process of DIY incense making. Kelsey will share the medicinal properties of our plant and tree ingredients. With your new knowledge of the natural medicine, you will build relationship to the biodiverse landscape of Southern California by smelling, tasting and crafting these plant medicines into incense. Take home a small jar of your hand-crafted cone incense and invite the medicinal power of Southern California in.
